We are still riding the wave of the launch of Faculty and are grateful for all the kind words and appreciation we’ve received. Thanks to everybody who purchased copies. We are also working on some amazing interactive and IRL programming for you this Spring/Summer. Stay tuned.
This past month, we had the honor of welcoming our friend Rick Valicenti for a conversation from his studio in Toronto. It was an evening of storytelling, design, history, and life. You can watch the conversation here.

We are thrilled to welcome MOTHER DESIGN for a virtual talk that will take us on a journey of a predetermined sequence of images and videos while members of Mother Design narrate.
Mother Design is an independent studio made up of designers, strategists, writers, and thinkers who love solving creative problems. A modest team of wildly curious people, they reside on a tiny island just off the coast of Mother. They engage in five-sense, four-dimension brand building for companies looking to translate their purpose and personality into language people can connect with, all the while ensuring their work passes the Bullshit Test of future generations.

We are enjoying all of the photos and videos you are sharing of your copy of Faculty! Keep them coming, and be sure to tag us so we can share them. We still have copies available.

The latest from Underscore
In this episode, Chicago-based designer and muralist Alyssa Low, speaks with host Christian Solorzano about designing and painting murals and the meditative approach to working with your hands. Low also shares her perspective and principles on determining what creative projects are worth focusing on, and we also learn about how her dedication to soccer fosters a collaborative spirit across the work she engages in. It's an insightful conversation in which we cover analog work, Chicago, community, and much more.
For this special episode (our 50th), club founder Christian Solorzano speaks with guest-host Carlos Segura about his upbringing, background, motivation behind founding the Chicago Graphic Design Club, and the inspiration that drives much of his community-centered work. Solorzano shares his vision for Chicago's design community, the reasons why he believes craft and passion are at the core of the city, and so much more.
