Welcome to the CGDC Substack site! We are a community working at building a positive culture within the theory, craft, and practice of graphic design. Our mission is to provide programming and a space that resonates with people, while aiming to make everyone feel seen, heard, and valued for their full humanity.
Since its beginning in 2020, the CGDC has focused on programming that builds community, while exploring the meaning of our practices and ways design could be used as an agent of change.
Book discussions, field trips, art exhibitions, a podcast, lectures and panels from notable designers such as Ellen Lupton, Jessica Helfand, Gail Anderson, Carlos Segura, and Barnbrook Studio are just a few examples of our programming, giving our community the opportunity to engage and learn. We continuously seek ways to collaborate with community leaders and engage in critical conversations about the role graphic design plays in the world we live in today and beyond.
